Accessible Ford F-150

Right - This is my new ride. Same Ford model, F-150, newer year though. Fortunately I was able to switch the wheelchair lift from my old truck to this boy.

Everything works exactly the same so see below to see how the lift works and the modification we added to help me transfer.

After coming across the Braun Lift, made for vans, on the internet, I got together with Mobility Plus in Houston, Tx., to see if they could put one on a Ford truck. The next day, Andre called and said that it would fit, all I had to do was figure out how to fix it so I could make the transfer easier between me and the driver's seat.

That's where that silver flap comes in. I had it custom-made and it allows me to pop one wheel off the lift and get my chair at a 45 degree angle to the seat. After the transfer, I just fold up my chair and pull it in behind the driver's seat. The whole process takes less than 2 minutes getting in or out.

Look at the Elaine Anne's Lift
OR
Landon Groff's
Truck
for other adaptive options for vehicles.

It's a similar lift for some Trucks & Vans.

Above - shows the strap I use to close the door once i'm in the driver's seat.

Below - this is how close my transfer is after I turn out on the flap.
