Black Wildebeest

Date: July, 2009

Place: Near Cathcart, South Africa

Weapon: Sako 30-06; 180 gr Nosler partition

Story: These animals truly are the 'clowns' of the plains. They're crazy the way the run around in circles without any rhyme or reason to what they're doing, but it must be a survival tactic because they we had a really tough time following them and predicting where they were headed.

Finally, when it got closer to dark, they settled down a bit and we caught them on an open plain where they stood just long enough for me to get a shot off.

Strange looking animal for sure; Terrific hunt!
