Story: It was a awesome ranch! They had scouted 3 bucks at the blind I got to hunt and they wanted me to shoot this huge 6-point that was wicked massave. There were also two big 7-pointers that they guessed were in the 120" to 130'' range. Saturday morning, I saw 2 nice 3-year-old 8-pointers and that's it. That evening, I saw a big old 8, but before we could get a look at him, a boar hog came in and ran him off. Needless to say, I put one in his ear and another one in his friend's ear too.

The ranch forman told me that night to forget those bucks they had scouted and to take what ever I wanted to shoot as long as it was a mature cull buck. So here came Sunday morning. I only saw 1 doe and talked Angie into staying for the evening so I could hunt one more time.

The buck I killed came across the sendero at 5:30p.m. We didnt have much time to look him over before he went out of sight. My guide grunted and he stopped just long enough for me to shoot... It was one of those hunts that pays off big time in the end. And I saw more big bucks that weekend than the rest of my life put together. The people were great the guide was one of my football buddies from high school. They have a freaking air strip even behind the ranch house for when the owner flies in. It was really beautiful.
