"I went to New Brunswick in May with the group from Buckmasters. Got
to meet David Sullivan and Mike Schmitz. Six out of seven of us got bear on
the trip and I had a really good time. Mike came up empty but had opportunities.
I
think he missed one or two then, hit one the last day but they never found it.
I shot mine the first day which wasn’t my original plan but it’s
hard to pass up an opportunity to fill your tag when you could end up not seeing
another one later. This guy wasn’t huge (170 lbs.) but came in at about
50 yards and looked big enough to make me happy. The drive up and back as the
worst part but it’s a neat part of the country to see. I even managed
to avoid hitting a Moose one night. That added a little excitement to the drive."
