"I got My first Buck this year at Lake Somerville. It had been 18 years since I realized that I could hunt again. Now I have the Fever of hunting in my blood."

Well Chad, here's the story: Gary, my "AB" friend, and I got to the deer blind a little before day break, put out a little doe scent and began our wait. We had been sitting there for two hours or so and nothing showed so we decide to try rattling. Still nothing was happening and this was around 8 am so Gary kicked back in his recliner ("plastic chair - Wal-Mart special" LOL). That put me on watch.

Anyway I had to keep a lookout and around 8:25, here he came, trotting out of the woods. He went right past the feeder and that got my heart pounding. Gary, being a hunter and all, grunted at him and he stopped! Well I don't have to tell you how fast I laid the cross-hairs on his shoulder. When I did I sipped on the Be-Adaptive Trigger and he jumped on the shot. It was about a 40 yard shot. He went off into the woods and disappeared.

So we waited about 5 minutes and found blood where he was standing when I shot, so we waited a little longer. About 30 seconds and Gary found him 50 yards away. Dead on the trail!

My gun rig is homemade. I use it to fish with also. We made a lapboard, put a rod holder in it for fishing. Then I started with a Lohman vise, mounted it on a aluminum mud flap that i had, it was a new flap, some steel threaded pipe and a ball joint that Gary got from work. Gary of course did the fab work. It's adjustable by putting on a longer or shorter pipe. The opening on the blind was lower than my view so I had to lean over. It was awesome. I shot the buck with a 30-06 with a managed recoil shell made by REM.
