ALABAMA - Joe Dunning wants to do a deer hunt for the disabled next season on his hunting club. He needs to get busy now setting the hunt up and selecting hunters. There is no cost for the hunt. Hunters will have to provide their own lodging and some meals, as well as hunting licenses. The firm dates have not been established. Please contact him at tiger85@frontiernet.net for more information.
This is not a Buckmasters American Deer Foundation event, we are just passing the word along. The land is a 860 acre tract in Monroe County Alabama. Hardwood bottoms and pine mixed. Lots of food plots with accessible shooting houses on the ground. There is a 6 point or better rule on bucks, but there are a good many deer on the tract and the chances of harvesting a doe is better than average. We will provide two meals to the hunters, lunch on Saturday and supper on Saturday night, hunters will be responsible for other meals through out the weekend.
We don't have a camp house so the hunters will need to arrange their own accommodations in some of the hotels here. I will give them hotel info. if they get in contact with me. If you need more info. on anything please let me know. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. "Joe Dunning"
ALABAMA - Yank Clark Invitational Bass Tournament for People with Disabilities The Yank Clark Invitational Bass Tournament will take place on April 21-22, 2001. The event is organized by Lakeshore Foundation of Birmingham, AL. This event matches one disabled fisherman with one volunteer club fisherman (two people per boat) for a normal style competitive bass tournament.
Those needing personal assistance in the boat can take a helper with them. You can participate no matter what state you are from. The event we named after Ray "Yank" Clark who has been putting this fantastic opportunity together for the past 12 years. The world would be a much better place if there were enough Yanks to go around! He has always done the event first class. It is conducted on Lake Eufaula which is on the AL/GA border. Eufaula is known as one of the best bass lakes in the region. The two-day event will include many prizes and place awards, a catered meal on Saturday and food and drinks while fishing. The cost is $30.00 per participant. Some individuals will be given scholarships to cover their entry fees. Lodging is the responsibility of the participants, and is available at Lakepoint State Park. For more information please call Wynn Lewis with the Lakeshore Foundation at 205-868-2065.
